September desktop wallpaper
Another month has slipped by and summer is nearing its end. For me, though, August and now September are about new beginnings. New friends, new adventures, and new places to photograph.
If you follow me on Twitter, Flickr, or Facebook, you know that my wife, JoEllen, and I spent some quality time recently with some of my partners in the photographic journey in a little town we like to call “The City of Big Shoulders.” Chicago, of course, was our destination and we spent several days there visiting the Henri Cartier-Bresson exhibit at the Art Institute, taking an architectural boat tour, and generally soaking up the city. We got to hang out with Mark Olwick, Sabrina Henry, Sue Ables and her husband Pat, and the irrepressible Marco Ryan. We also took a few photographs, of which this month’s desktop wallpaper is one.
This was taken during the boat tour of Chicago architecture and is part of my series on Flickr called “Blue Chicago.” I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks, John. It would have been great to have you along with the group. I’m sure we’ll try to do it again sometime and we’ll definitely keep you in mind.
